This product is then purified using liquid chromatography before being acylated with hexanoic anhydride to make it soluble in water. 7MT has carcinogenic properties and can cause cancer in rats when injected directly into their stomachs. It also contains polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are carcinogenic and may cause cancer.
