Description:L-Methionine sulfone is an enzyme substrate that is a potent antagonist of glutamate, the α subunit of aspartate aminotransferase, and proteolytic enzymes. L-Methionine sulfone inhibits protein synthesis by competitively inhibiting uptake of methionine into the cell.
