Description:

2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)pyridine is a reactive and fluorescent compound that can be used as a palladium catalyst in the synthesis of organic compounds. The 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)pyridine complex reacts with an aryl halide to produce an alkylated product. This reaction is catalyzed by palladium, which coordinates to the complex. The reactivity of this complex has been shown using kinetic experiments, control experiments, and dehydrogenative carboxylate reactions. This can also be used as a reactive agent in acylation reactions and cross-coupling reactions between alkyl halides and aryl halides.
