Description

3-Methoxyflavone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cardiac tissues. It also inhibits the growth of infectious bacteria by inhibiting their ability to synthesize DNA and RNA. 3-Methoxyflavone binds to the enzyme's active site and alters its activity, which leads to a decrease in bacterial growth. 3-Methoxyflavone also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells as well as ROS-induced DNA damage. 3-Methoxyflavone has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
