Methacroylcholine chloride is an organic compound that exhibits in vitro antifungal activity. It is a viscosity-conditioning agent and has been used as a fungicide in animal feed, dry weight, and wastewater treatment. Methacroylcholine chloride is also used as a conditioning agent for natural gas pipelines and as a transfection reagent. The mechanism of action of methacroylcholine chloride on fungi is not yet fully understood but it may be related to the presence of lysine residues and hydrogen atoms. Methacroylcholine chloride has been shown to have neutral ph, which makes it compatible with fatty esters such as glycerides.
