Description:

Methyl 2-fluoropropionate is a solvent that is used in the synthesis of primary amines. It has been shown to be stereoselective and used as an intermediate in the preparation of methyl esters. Methyl 2-fluoropropionate can also be used in enolate reactions, which are nucleophilic additions to carbonyl compounds. Methyl 2-fluoropropionate is typically generated by reacting lithium diisopropylamide with fluorine gas, followed by addition of an amine.
