Product Information
N-Hex-5-ynyl-2-iodoacetamide (HIAA) is a small molecule inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor. HIAA binds to the extracellular domain of the receptor, blocking its interaction with other proteins, and inhibits cell growth by preventing the activation of signaling pathways. HIAA has been shown to inhibit dimethyl fumarate, a fatty acid that is involved in chemoproteomic regulation. This inhibition was found to be due to its ability to bind to the fatty acid binding site on the receptor. HIAA also blocks cation channels and can be used for sample preparation in analytical chemistry studies. It is reactive and has been shown to form disulfide bonds in structural analysis or mechanism studies.
