HIAA binds to the extracellular domain of the receptor, blocking its interaction with other proteins, and inhibits cell growth by preventing the activation of signaling pathways. HIAA has been shown to inhibit dimethyl fumarate, a fatty acid that is involved in chemoproteomic regulation.
