Fmoc-MeDbz is an antimicrobial peptide that has been synthesized using solid-phase synthesis. The peptide is composed of the unusual amino acids Fmoc-Me and Dbz. It is a cyclic peptide with an amide bond at its C-terminus. Fmoc-MeDbz has a neutral ph value and can be activated using chemical ligation and modifications to improve its stability. Synthetic analogs of this peptide have also been developed to improve its antibacterial activity against various bacterial strains such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
