Description:
1-(4-Nitrophenyl)glycerol is a homologous inhibitor of the enzyme DNA gyrase. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, including Streptococcus faecalis, and Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 1-(4-Nitrophenyl)glycerol is used in combination with tetracycline as an antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial growth. It is also used as a sample preparation for antimicrobial resistance testing.
