Nanodiamonds are a novel class of drug candidates with unique properties. They are chemically stable, non-toxic and biocompatible. Nanodiamonds can be used to treat cancer cells by laser ablation or by the use of an electric field. The particle size of nanodiamonds is too small for them to be filtered out in the liver and spleen, which means that they can accumulate in these organs and cause inflammation. The hydroxyl group on the surface of nanodiamonds makes them suitable for binding to proteins, which may make them useful for targeting certain tissues or cells. In addition, nanodiamonds have been shown to inhibit 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and to enhance the thermal expansion of polymers. Furthermore, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy has revealed that nanodiamonds have a lower dielectric constant than other materials such as Teflon and gold, which means that they could be used as electrodes in bios
