Product Information
Name:2-Naphthyl phenyl ketone
Brand:Biosynth
Description:2-Naphthyl phenyl ketone is a synthetic process that was developed to replace the toxic and expensive compound naphthalene. The reactive 2-naphthyl phenyl ketones are activated by an acid catalyst, such as hydrochloric acid, and then react with the hydroxyl group of diethyl succinate to form an aromatic hydrocarbon. This reaction can be activated by light exposure or radiation. Trifluoroacetic acid chlorides the aromatic hydrocarbon to form oxetane, which is recycled back into the process.
