N-methyl-N-propylnitrous amide (NPPA) is a potent inducer of liver microsomal cytochrome P450. NPPA has been shown to have potent anticancer activity in vitro, as well as in vivo, and it was found to be more potent than phenobarbital. NPPA is also active against bladder cancer and cavity cancers. NPPA has been shown to induce antibody production in mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and cell division.
