Description:Norprogesterone is a progestin that has been used to treat fertility disorders and to regulate the menstrual cycle. It has been found to stimulate the production of estrogens and inhibit the production of androgens. Norprogesterone has been shown to be effective in vitro for chronic exposure, but is not active in vivo. Norprogesterone binds to glucocorticoid receptors and competes with estradiol benzoate for these receptors, which may lead to an anti-estrogenic effect.
