4-Nitrobenzaldehyde is a reactive compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity. It is used in the synthesis of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals. 4-Nitrobenzaldehyde binds to the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to the disruption of aerobic respiration.
