Description:Neridienone B is a saponin that has been shown to be active against cervical cancer and virus. It inhibits the growth of carcinoma cells by binding to their epidermal growth factor receptors, and therefore blocks the effects of the epidermal growth factor. Neridienone B also inhibits cell growth through inhibition of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway and cell cycle progression. This compound has also demonstrated antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis.
