Naringenin-7-rutinoside is a water-soluble flavonoid that can be extracted from the peel of citrus fruit. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of several enzymes, including p-hydroxybenzoic acid oxidase, caffeic acid oxidase, dehydrocostus lactone oxidase, and lipid peroxidases. Naringenin-7-rutinoside has also been shown to have a protective effect on bowel disease by inhibiting the activity of colorectal cancer cells. This compound may also have antioxidant properties due to its ability to scavenge free radicals in biological systems. The biological properties of naringenin-7-rutinoside are related to its ability to affect drug metabolism and interactions with other drugs.
