Naringenin-7-glucoside is a bioactive phenolic compound in plants that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in a model system. It has also been found to have complex biochemical properties and inhibit enzyme activities. This compound is a potential natural product for the treatment of infectious diseases, such as malaria, due to its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory activities. Naringenin-7-glucoside has also been shown to be nontoxic at the high doses tested and does not interact with other drugs. The molecular docking analysis showed that naringenin-7-glucoside could bind to the active site of the enzyme chorionic gonadotropin beta subunit (CGβ) which regulates glycolysis and glycogenolysis in human erythrocytes.
