3-Noradamantaneamine hydrochloride is a thioamide that has inhibitory activities on biological processes, such as the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). 3-Noradamantaneamine hydrochloride also inhibits angiogenesis and the proliferation of endothelial cells. The drug was shown to be neuroprotective in animal models and to have anti-angiogenic properties. The mechanism of action is not yet clear, but may involve nitric oxide synthase inhibition or nitration of the drug.
