O-(4-Nitrobenzoyl)hydroxylamine can be synthesized through the radical chain reaction of nitrous acid and hydroxylamine. This reaction is able to produce a tetradentate molecule that contains sulfinyl groups. The O-(4-Nitrobenzoyl)hydroxylamine molecule is nonbasic because it does not contain any acidic hydrogen atoms.
