Product Information
Neoisoastilbin is a natural product that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in rats. Neoisoastilbin also has an inhibitory effect on acute toxicities induced by the administration of dextran sulfate and caffeic acids. This compound also inhibits matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of MMP-9 gene. Neoisoastilbin is structurally related to astilbin, a natural product that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities in mice and humans. Astilbin is structurally related to phenolic compounds such as caffeic acid, which has been shown to have antioxidant properties in vitro.
