Product Information
Myceliothermophin E is a secondary metabolite that is isolated from the mycelia of the fungus Myceliophthora thermophila. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Myceliothermophin E has been found to be a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which can lead to reduced production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It also has an effect on COX-1, but at much lower concentrations. Myceliothermophin E is an analytical standard for HPLC and can be used as a reference material for quality control purposes or used in screening assays.
