Description:Edelfosine is a phospholipid analog that has been shown to inhibit insulin-induced glucose uptake in adipocytes. It is a potent inhibitor of the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase and can also act as an allosteric inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC). Edelfosine inhibits the growth of mammary carcinomas by inhibiting PKC, which leads to a decrease in cell proliferation. This drug also interacts with sulfonic acids, forming hydrogen bonds, which may be the reason for its high-performance liquid chromatography. The molecular weight of edelfosine is 582.3 g/mol.
