ONX-0914 is a small molecule that targets pro-apoptotic protein BimEL and sensitizes cells to apoptosis. The drug also inhibits NF-kB activation, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the recruitment of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) to the nucleus. ONX-0914 has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in primary human cells by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNFα. In vitro experiments using primary cells have demonstrated that ONX-0914 can ameliorate autoimmune diseases by suppressing inflammatory responses.
