Product Information

Name:
Oleoside dimethylester
Description:

Oleoside dimethylester is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) and prevent influenza virus replication in cell culture. Oleoside dimethylester also inhibits viral syncytium formation, viral adsorption, and viral penetration into the host cell. This compound may have antiviral activity against HIV, herpes simplex virus type 1, herpes simplex virus type 2, and respiratory syncytial virus. The antiviral potency of oleoside dimethylester is comparable to that of zanamivir but less than that of amantadine or rimantadine. Oleoside dimethylester has also been found to have an inhibitory effect on bone resorption in ovariectomized rats.
