Product Information
2-Oxoindoline-3-hydrazone (2OIH) is a heterocyclic compound that has been reported to have anticancer activity. 2OIH is an intramolecular hydrogen bond acceptor, which may account for its anticancer activity. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in mammalian cell lines and in vitro studies of human carcinoma cell lines. This compound also showed anticancer activity against bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). The geometric isomers of 2OIH have been studied using nmr spectra, and the carbonyl group has been identified as the source of its anti-cancer properties. Structural analysis has revealed that the hydroxyl group on the indole moiety is important for the anti-cancer properties of this molecule.
