Description:Oxatomide is a histamine 1 (H1) antagonist that is used to treat allergic symptoms and chronic cough. It has been shown to be effective in an experimental model of chronic pulmonary airway inflammation. Oxatomide may also have anti-inflammatory effects, but these have not been well studied. Oxatomide has also been shown to have clinical relevance for the treatment of some autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
