• Description: 17-Oxo dexamethasone is a mixture of 17-hydroxy-6,7-dihydro-17α-methylpregna-1,4,9(11)-triene-3,20-dione and its 3β,5β stereoisomers. It is an oxidation product of dexamethasone that may be formed during the synthesis or storage of this drug. The impurity has been identified by high resolution mass spectrometry.
