Description:
n-Octanamide is a fatty acid amide that has shown to inhibit cholesterol acyltransferase activity. It also has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes that break down collagen in the joints. n-Octanamide has been shown to be an effective extractant for various chemical species, such as hydroxyl groups and cationic surfactants. It is used as a detergent composition in cleaning products, such as dishwashing liquids and laundry detergents.
