Oroxin A is an acetate extract from the stem bark of Baicalein-7-o-glucoside Oroxylum indicum. It has been shown to have anti-oxidative properties, as well as anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. Oroxin A has also been found to inhibit the activity of a number of enzymes, including amylase, lipase, and chymotrypsin. This extract has been shown to reduce oxidative injury in the colon by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and the depletion of glutathione stores. Oroxin A may be effective in treating bowel disease such as inflammatory bowel disease, due to its ability to suppress inflammation.
