Description:Pyridine-2-aldehyde is a stable complex that can be synthesized using the asymmetric synthesis of ethylene diamine and picolinic acid. The solid catalyst is the copper chloride, which coordinates to two nitrogen atoms in the pyridine ring. The coordination geometry is octahedral. Pyridine-2-aldehyde has been shown to react with copper complexes to form stable complexes, as well as undergoing kinetic reactions with metal carbonyls. Pyridine-2-aldehyde has also demonstrated analytical chemistry properties by reacting with picolinic acid to form a picolinic acid derivative.
