Description:

2-Pentyn-1-ol is a polymerized amide that belongs to the class of synthetic compounds. It has been prepared by a preparative method and contains deuterium isotope effect. The compound has two isomers, one of which is deuterated with deuterium isotope. 2-Pentyn-1-ol can be used as a chelating agent in analytical chemistry, or as an intermediate for other chemical reactions. It is also used in the synthesis of other organic compounds, such as zearalenone and propargyl alcohols. 2-Pentyn-1-ol can be synthesized by the reaction of propargyl chloride with anhydrous hydrazine and sodium methoxide in methanol at room temperature.
