Product Information
Name:Phenylisocyanate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Phenylisocyanate is a reactive organic compound that is used in the production of polyurethane. It reacts with amines to form urea, as well as with alcohols, ethers, and carboxylic acids to form esters. Phenylisocyanate may also react with hydrogen fluoride (HF) or sodium salts to form hydrofluoric acid (HFA). The analysis of phenylisocyanate can be performed using a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method. This analytical method has been shown to be useful for determining the purity of isocyanates during the production of polyurethanes. The carcinoma cell lines that were tested showed high values when exposed to phenylisocyanate at concentrations greater than 100 ppm.
