Pyroxsulam is a phenylpyrazole herbicide that acts as a growth regulator in plants. It inhibits the acetylcholine esterase enzyme, which leads to an accumulation of acetylcholine at the synapse and subsequent paralysis of the insect. Pyroxsulam has synergistic effects with piperonyl butoxide, which is an ingredient used to inhibit or prevent resistance to other pesticides. It can be used for the control of insects such as aphids, leafhoppers, and thrips on wheat, triticum aestivum, and wheat leaves. Pyroxsulam also has pharmaceutical applications because it is a fatty acid.
