Description:

2-Piperazin-1-ylacetamide hydrochloride is a drug that binds to the protein PCSK9, which transports cholesterol into cells. It blocks the transport of cholesterol and therefore lowers the level of cholesterol in blood. 2-Piperazin-1-ylacetamide hydrochloride is used for the treatment of bowel disease, atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat), congestive heart failure, and as an anti-viral agent. This drug has been shown to reduce levels of LDL cholesterol by up to 60%. 2-Piperazin-1-ylacetamide hydrochloride has also been shown to be effective against cancers such as prostate cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
