1-Phenyl pyrrole is a molecule that belongs to the class of aromatic compounds. It reacts with hydrogen and hydrochloric acid to produce an intermediate, which then reacts with ammonia to form an amide. The reaction mechanism for this compound has been studied using a variety of techniques, including uv absorption spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction data. 1-Phenyl pyrrole has been shown to react with the fatty acid C10H21O2 at the methylene group, forming a molecule called ethylidenebutyrolactone. This compound is a colorless liquid that exhibits fluorescence properties. In addition, 1-phenylpyrrole can react with argon gas at room temperature in the presence of light in order to produce excited states.
