Description:1-Pyridin-2-ylpropan-1-one is a synthetic compound with anti-tumor activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bladder cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The mechanism of action is unknown, but it may be due to its ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and prevent lipid peroxidation. 1-Pyridin-2-ylpropan-1-one has also been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines in macrophages. This compound also has an ability to scavenge radical species such as nitric oxide and superoxide.
