Description:4-Phenyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-one is an intermediate in chemical synthesis. It is chiral and has a levorotatory form. This compound is used as an anthelmintic. The elimination of 4-phenyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-one occurs by the formation of 2-(4'-nitrophenoxy)benzaldehyde and phenylacetaldehyde. Tetramisole is the other name for 4-(4'-nitrophenoxy)-1,3,5,-trimethylpyrazole. Levamisole is a synthetic anthelmintic with a selective action on nematodes and trematodes.
