6-Prenylquercetin is a prenylflavonoid that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the production of estrogen, which may play a role in its anti-cancer effects. 6-Prenylquercetin has also been shown to inhibit aromatase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of androgens into estrogens, suggesting a potential use for this compound as an antineoplastic agent in humans. 6-Prenylquercetin inhibits the proliferation of t47d cells by blocking cell cycle progression at phase G2/M.
