This reaction produces cytotoxic products such as hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, dinitrogen tetroxide, nitrous acid, and nitrogen dioxide. Platinum(II) bromide is also capable of reacting with light emission to produce heat energy and activation energies for chemical reactions.
