Description:2-(1H-pyrrol-2-ylmethyl)-1H-pyrrole (2HPMP) is an organic compound that contains a pyrrole ring with two methyl substituents. It reacts with trifluoroacetic acid and copper to form a dipyrromethane, which can then be reacted with intramolecular hydrogen to form a metal chelate. 2HPMP has been shown to react with human serum and produce a reaction mechanism that includes oxygen nucleophiles and nmr spectra. The chemical structure of 2HPMP includes benzyl groups that are coordinated to the metal atom. The hydrochloric acid used in the synthesis of 2HPMP may have caused some of the observed differences in the nmr spectra.
