Description:
2-(Piperidin-2-yl)piperidine is an organopallic compound that has been used in catalytic asymmetric synthesis, most notably the synthesis of 1,4-benzodiazepines. The catalytic activity is due to the chelate ring and carbenes in the molecule. The fluxional nature of 2-(piperidin-2-yl)piperidine makes it a good ligand for transition metal complexes and it also has diffraction properties. The compound has shown yields of up to 96% in some cases.
