Description:

Propiconazole is a fungicide that belongs to the group of azole compounds. It inhibits the activity of enzymes and has been used in wastewater treatment and water vapor control. Propiconazole is also used as an analytical reagent to detect enzyme activities in various matrices. Propiconazole binds to the mitochondrial membrane potential, inhibiting energy metabolism, leading to cell death by necrosis or apoptosis. Studies have shown that propiconazole has acute toxicities in plants, which may be due to its inhibition of plant polymerase chain reactions and protein synthesis.
