Product Information
Perfluoropropanesulfonic acid (PFPS) is a silicon-containing monomer that has a viscosity of approximately 3.2 mm2/s at 25°C. It features two phenyl groups, which are electron donating groups that lead to a low dielectric constant and hydroxyl group, which is an electron withdrawing group. PFPS is amphoteric in nature and can be used as a bifunctional crosslinker for silicone rubber and as a surfactant for hydrocarbon fluids. It also has halide-forming properties and can be used as an amide or fatty acid precursor. PFPS is soluble in water and hydrophilic in nature, making it ideal for the production of hydrophilic polymers with high flow rates. PFPS has no functional groups that would allow it to participate in reactions other than those mentioned above.
