Product Information
Pivalaldehyde oxime is a reactive compound that forms through the nucleophilic attack of carboxylic acid anhydrides on alcohols. Pivalaldehyde oxime reacts with metal ions to form metal carboxylates, which are useful reagents in analytical chemistry. This compound also has nitro groups that are sensitive to oxidizing agents and can be used as an indicator for the presence of oxygen in organic compounds. Pivalaldehyde oxime can cause cell apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to induce DNA fragmentation and mitochondrial dysfunction. It is found in environmental pollution and can be used agriculturally as a synergist for amines.
