Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a drug that belongs to the group of ester hydrochlorides. It is an alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist that causes vasoconstriction by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors, thereby increasing intracellular calcium levels and stimulating the release of norepinephrine. Phenylephrine hydrochloride has been shown to decrease blood pressure in clinical trials and is used to treat bowel disease, high blood pressure, and maternal hypotension. This drug also has some sedative effects via its activity on the central nervous system. The reaction solution is then analyzed by HPLC or LCMS for purity analysis.br>br>Phenylephrine hydrochloride can be used as a control for analytical methods such as HPLC or LCMS.
br>br>Papillary muscle contractions are stimulated by phenylephrine hydrochloride and can be monitored using optical recording techniques.br>br>
