Description:
Gamma-polyglutamic acid sodium is a polymer of gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is used as an anti-inflammatory agent and for the treatment of tumors. Gamma-polyglutamic acid sodium can be made from ester hydrochloride by the reaction with epidermal growth factor or activated tumor cells. This polymer has been shown to have low bioavailability, which may be due to its high molecular weight and lack of solubility in water.
