Pentaerythritol triallyl ether is a crosslinker for polymers and a polymerization inhibitor. It is used in the production of pharmaceutical preparations and film-forming polymers. Pentaerythritol triallyl ether has been shown to have hydrophilic properties, with water permeability values up to 2.8 x 10-6 cm/sec at 25°C. The chemical structure of this compound consists of two hydroxyl groups and one allyl ether bond, which stabilizes the formation of hydrogen bonds. This product has been shown to be stable up to 250 °C, as well as resistant to degradation by inorganic acids and fatty acids. Pentaerythritol triallyl ether has also been shown to form covalent linkages with metal hydroxides, such as aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide, due to its ability to undergo metal-catalyzed reactions.
