Description:

5-cyclobutyl-5-Phenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione is a chiral compound with two stereogenic centers. It has been used as a bronchodilator and antihistamine. 5-cyclobutyl-5-Phenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione is an additive in some drugs to prevent the separation of enantiomers during manufacturing. The hydrogen phosphate anion can be used as an analytical chemistry reagent for the determination of analytes such as electrolytes or amino acids. 5-cyclobutyl-5-Phenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione also has antiarrhythmic properties that are due to its ability to block potassium channels in heart cells.
