Phenyl trans-beta-styryl sulfone (PTBS) is a ligand that has been used for the study of reaction systems. PTBS binds to metal ions and, in the presence of formamide, reacts with peroxide to generate reactive radicals. These radicals have been shown to be effective in polymerizing styrene and other monomers. PTBS is a bidentate ligand that can also be used as an organic solvent. It is soluble in n-dimethyl formamide and exhibits high reactivity with peroxides, which are known to be useful for copolymerizations.
The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is an antituberculosis drugs that belongs to the class of rifamycins. It is the most active of the rifamycins for the treatment of tuberculosis. Rifapentine inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymer
